Friends of the Lake Pleasant Library

April usually brings showers and mud season, just the perfect time to curl up with a good book or movie and the library has a great selection. Our monthly shipment of new books, DVDs and CDs has arrived, so be sure to stop in and check them out.

Adult Fiction: "Alex Cross, Run" by James Patterson, "Calculated in Death" by J.D. Robb, "Deadly Stakes" by J.A. Jance, "Easter Bunny Murder" by Leslie Meier, "Eyes Wide Open" by Ted Dekker, "Lemon Tart" by Josi Kilpack, "Red Velvet Cupcake Murder" by Joanne Fluke, "The Chance" by Karen Kingsbury, "The Story Teller" by Jodi Picoult, "The Striker" by Clive Cussler and "The Wrath of Angels" by John Connolly.

Adult Non-Fiction: "American Sniper" (military) by Chris Kyle, "Cook's Illustrated Cookbook" and "Cook's Magazine" and "Proof of Heaven" (a neurosurgeon's journey into the afterlife) by Eben Alexander.

Young Adult Fiction: "Seizure" (Virals, #2) (grades 6-10) by Kathy Reichs.

Children's Books: "Sugarbush Spring" (ages 4-8) by Marsha Chall, "Clementine and the Spring Trip" (ages 7-10) by Sara Pennypacker and "The Day of Doom - The 39 Clues" (age 8 up) by David Baldacci.

Children's CD Audiobooks: "A-Z Mysteries K-N" and "A-Z Mysteries O-R" (ages 5 up) by Ron Roy and "The Day of Doom - The 39 Clues" (age 8 up).

Adult CD Audiobooks: "Alex Cross, Run," "Calculated in Death" and "Deadly Stakes."

DVDs: "Life of Pi," PG; "We Bought a Zoo," PG; "Skyfall," PG-13; "Lemony Snicket, A Series of Unfortunate Events," PG; "Breaking Dawn" (Twilight Saga) PG-13; and "Emily of the New Moon #4," family drama.

The Book Club selection for the May 20 meeting is "Bridge of Sighs," a novel on small town life based loosely on Gloversville, the hometown of the author, Richard Russo. He won the 2002 Pulitzer Prize for his novel "Empire Falls." Everyone is welcome to attend the book club meetings.

Adirondack Room Exhibit: For those of you who haven't as yet, there is still time to see the artwork of Jack Leadley Sr. His beautiful paintings (some on deer hide) will be on display throughout April.
