Inlet Historical Society has summer plans

INLET - Inlet Historical Society has set a busy summer schedule of events that includes the following.

Saturday, May 25, 11 a.m. - Unveiling of the new sign in front of the Inlet Historical Society building, followed by an Open House.

Wednesday, June 26, 7 p.m. - "Inlet Then and Now Part I" presentation by Charlie Herr.

Friday, July 12, 10 a.m. - Historical Walking Tour of Downtown Inlet, followed by an open house at the Inlet Historical Society building.

Wednesday, July 24, 7 p.m. - "Inlet Then and Now Part II" presentation by Charlie Herr.

Saturday, July 27, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Adirondack Cruise-In in the lot in front of The Woods Inn.

Wednesday, Aug. 7, 6 p.m. - Annual Meeting of Members and "French Louie and His Biographer" presentation by Roy Reehil.

Friday, Aug. 9, 10 a.m. - Historical Walking Tour of Downtown Inlet followed by an open house at the Inlet Historical Society building.

Wednesday, Aug. 28, 7 p.m. - "Historic Inlet Hotels" presentation by the people who ran them.

Wednesday, Sept. 1, 7 p.m. - "Old Hunting Camps in the Inlet Area" presentation by Mitch Lee

DONATIONS COMING IN

The Collections Committee has received donations of a number of fascinating items of historical significance. The historical society hopes to have its building open throughout the summer to display these wonderful items and its growing collections.

Its new sign will be unveiled Saturday, May 25, generously donated by Waddie Kalil.

TAKE A CHANCE

Tickets for an Elie Sound 120 XE kayak purchased from Connie Perry at Frisky Otter Tours will be available throughout the summer and fall at one for $10 and three for $25. The kayak is on display at Inlet Information Office, where tickets are available. Tickets are also available from any board member at the Inlet Historical Society when open.

Consider becoming a member of Inlet Historical Society. Membership starts at just $15 per year; forms are available at Inlet Information Office.
