Dog fees are going up

Sunday, April 13, 2014 - Updated: 7:37 PM

BENSON -- The annual licensing fee for dogs that have not been spayed or altered is going up to $10 in the Town of Benson. The fee for licensing a neutered dog remains the same at $5.

The Benson Town Board has decided to purchase a new truck with plow and sander from Vision Ford, Rochester, for $61,395. Two bids were opened when the board met March 12. The other was from West Herr Ford, Rochester, for $62,512. The decision was made at a special meeting March 31.

The board discussed shared services for salt, plowing and sanding as well as future plans for shared services with the Town of Hope. A shared service agreement is already in place between the two towns.

The board is looking into purchasing a computer for the town barn.
