Small grants available to fight breast cancer

ALBANY -- The Northeastern New York Affiliate of Susan G. Komen has announced the availability of small grants of up to $5,000 to organizations to fund breast health education projects, conferences and travel scholarships.

Small grant applications from non-profit, government or educational organizations are accepted throughout the year. The organization must be located in, or providing services in, the NENY Affiliate's 15-county service area (Saratoga, Fulton, Schoharie, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Albany, Washington, Hamilton, Clinton, Franklin, Essex, Washington, Schenectady, or Montgomery).

Organizations must submit an application through the Komen Grants Electronic Management System. Google affiliategrants.komen.org for applications. Instructions to apply online can be found at www.komenneny.org/. Click on 'Grants.'

The Northeastern New York Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure works to better the lives of those facing breast cancer. It has funded more than $3.1 million in local breast health and breast cancer awareness projects in its service area through events like the Komen Northeastern New York Race for the Cure.
