SPECULATOR -- Thirty people attended the Meet the Artist reception presented by Friends of the Lake Pleasant Library Friday, May 9, for Carole Williams.

Williams illustrated a recently published children's book, "Only Daddy's Dog," written by Cynthia Crosson about a combat veteran and the dog trained to assist him in his recovery.

The door prizes were won by Yevonne Warfield (a floral arrangement by Country Accents) and Carol Waller (gourmet French macaroons baked by Bulldog Bakery).

Williams' artistic repertoire includes painting wall murals, decorative painting on furniture, gourd projects, cane making and wood-burning. Her art will be on exhibit in the Adirondack Room through May.

All donations to the Friends benefit the library's children's program and supplies and other community events and programs.
