Wells school budget passes

WELLS -- Wells Central School District residents voted 117-22 to approve the 2014-15 school budget Tuesday, May 20.

The $5,426,898 budget reflects an increase in district spending of 1.29 percent, and will result in a 2.22 percent tax levy increase.

Voters also approved the purchase of a 30-passenger bus for $70,685 and voted to allow the Board of Education to create a Bus Replacement Reserve Fund and a Capital Project Reserve Fund, both not to exceed $400,000 over a 10-year period.

Stephen Stofelano was elected to the Board of Education with 108 votes. His five-year term begins July 1, 2014 when current Board Member David Woodward's term expires.
