INLET -- Friends of the late Kyle Riedman will host a golf tournament in his name Saturday, June 14, at Inlet Golf Course. Sign-in begins at 8 a.m. for the 9 a.m. shotgun start. Golfers of all ages and abilities are invited to participate.

The four-person scramble tournament will include cash prizes, a Chinese auction, raffles and a buffet dinner. The $75 per person cost includes greens fees, golf cart and dinner, with all proceeds going to the Kyle Riedman Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Riedman, 24, was killed in a snowmobile accident in February. He was an avid sportsman and athlete and enjoyed competition.

"After Kyle's funeral we were thinking of ways we could honor his memory, and also ways our group of friends could come back together and celebrate his life," says organizer and friend Kerrin Ehrensbeck.

"J.J. Schoonover and I talked about putting on a golf tournament to raise money for a scholarship. After a couple weeks and some talks with Kyle's parents, Doug and Judy Riedman, we starting putting things together and, with the help of many people, we are where we are now."

Individuals or businesses can sponsor a hole for $100. Organizers still need raffle prize donations.

To register send checks payable to Kyle Riedman Memorial Golf Tournament and mail to Kyle Riedman Memorial Golf at POB 839, Old Forge NY 13420.

The deadline to register is June 1. The tournament is limited to 144 golfers so early registration is encouraged. For additional information and to sponsor or donate call Ehrensbeck at (315) 360-3136.
