of Long Lake was one of nearly 550 students who were awarded degrees at St. Lawrence University's May 18 Commencement. Nerney was awarded a degree in performance and communications arts magna cum laude.

Founded in 1856, St. Lawrence University is a private, independent liberal arts institution of about 2,400 students located in Canton. Its educational opportunities prepare students to be critical and creative thinkers.

TAYLOR GOODSPEED

of Newcomb has been named to the President's List at Hudson Valley Community College

Each fall and spring term, the college's President's List honors students who have a term grade point average between 3.5 and 4.0. Goodspeed is studying in the Individual Studies academic program at the Troy college.

Founded in 1953, HVCC offers 75 associate degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training.

It has an enrollment of nearly 13,000 students and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training.
