Inlet church has a new pastor

INLET -- Inlet Community Church is excited to announce it recently called Phil Huber to serve as pastor. Huber served as a pastor in the Syracuse area for seven years prior to spending the last eight years as a retail manager with Delta Sonic.

"Initially, I came just to fill in while the church was without a pastor," Huber explained. "I'd drive out Saturday and stay over till Sunday. This rekindled my passion for pastoral ministry and I fell in love with the people and the place.

"My wife and I increasingly sensed God's call to relocate and make this more permanent."

In addition to serving the church part-time, Phil will keep his feet in retail by working at the Fastrac in Old Forge. "I've truly enjoyed both my career paths and am grateful that now I'll be able to do both."

Church members Ron and Joyce Leszyk expressed excitement about the new leadership Huber brings. "We are enjoying the contemporary worship Phil has introduced while still having solid Biblical teaching. We believe the Hubers are an answer to many years of prayer."

Wife Sue Huber and their four children will join Phil at the end of the school year. Having commuted here throughout the winter and spring, they are looking forward to enjoying all summer brings to Inlet and Old Forge.

Inlet Community Church is in the village of Inlet on S. Shore Rd. and meets for worship Sunday mornings at 10:15 a.m. with Sunday School preceding at 9 a.m. Throughout the summer, Huber will teach through the book of Acts in a series entitled "Extreme Makeover: Church Edition."

For more information call the church at (315) 357-2291.
