Rhodes and Michienzi are WCS's top seniors

WELLS -- Jessica Rhodes, daughter of Lori and Chris Rhodes of Piseco, has been named valedictorian of the Wells Central School Class of 2014.

Jessica is a member of National Honor Society, and has served as a piano accompanist for the school chorus and several other community functions. She has participated full-time in the Early Admissions Program at Fulton-Montgomery Community College for the past two years.

Jessica enjoys volunteering at an area veterinary clinic and loves caring for all types of animals. She works as a cashier at an area business.

She plans to attend Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. in the fall to study biology and pre-veterinary.

Matthew Michienzi, son of Christine Michienzi and the late Jeffrey Michienzi, has been named salutatorian of the Wells Central School Class of 2014.

Matthew is a member of National Honor Society, Student Council, and the varsity soccer, basketball and baseball teams. He has participated in American Legion Boys State at SUNY Morrisville and the Leadership Through Medicine Program in Washington, D.C.

He currently participates in the New Visions Program at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville. Matthew is an active member of Piseco Volunteer Fire Company and works as a lifeguard at an area beach in the summer.

He plans to attend Niagara University in the fall to study biology and pre-medical.
