Farmers Market opens July 5

Saturday, June 14, 2014 - Updated: 8:44 PM

INDIAN LAKE -- The Indian Lake Community Farmers Market will be held every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 5 through Sept. 27, at the intersection of state routes 28 and 30 in the parking lot of the former grocery store here.

The market will feature regional farmers, bakers, artisans and crafters. Booth spaces will also be available to accommodate and highlight local businesses, community organizations, entertainment and educational activities during market days.

"The market is a great opportunity to bring fresh produce and healthy foods to our community and to attract more people to our Main Street businesses," say committee chairs Brenda Valentine and Danielle Shaw.

The Market Steering Committee includes Father Philip Allen, Kelly Benton, Liz Cannan, Taff Fitterer, Aaron Gadway, Danielle Shaw, Mary Robertson, Nancy Welch and Brenda Valentine.

Those interested in serving on the Steering Committee or who would like further information about the market can contact the Indian Lake Community Farmers Market at or call (518) 648-5636.
