Booth reappointed to APA

ALBANY -- The New York State Senate last week confirmed Gov. Andrew Cuomo's reappointment of Richard Booth of Ithaca to the Adirondack Park Agency Board of Commissioners.

Gov. Eliot Spitzer appointed Booth to the board in 2007 to fill Katherine Roberts' unfinished term. She stepped down before her four-year term ended.

Booth was reappointed in 2008. His term expired June 30, 2012. APA commissioners may serve on expired terms.

Booth is a darling of the environmentalist contingent. He is a professor in the City and Regional Planning department at Cornell University. He was president of the Environmental Planning Lobby for several years and spent 10 years as a trustee of The Adirondack Council, ending in 1992.

He has also served as a staff attorney for the APA and the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.
