LAKE PLEASANT -- Artists submitted gorgeous works for the Earth Hour Poster Contest sponsored by the Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District in March.

Posters highlighted the theme "One Hour, One Planet," illustrating a green action that helps protect this world.

"Each poster was unique and visually displayed how one simple action can make a tremendous difference in conserving natural resources and ensuring the planet is healthy and vibrant for future generations," said Caitlin Stewart, the district's conservation educator. The winners are as follows.

Adults: Melonie Luck of Morehouse.

7-9th Grades: James Luck Jr. of Morehouse.

4-6th Grades: Hannah Damphier of Wells Central School.

K-3rd Grades: Keturah Luck of Morehouse.

Earth Hour is a global celebration held the last Saturday in March, where people switch off their lights for an hour to raise awareness for the planet.

The Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District has been working to manage and promote the wise use of natural resources in Hamilton County since 1965. For more information about this and other green contests, programs and services call (518) 548-3991 or visit
