Northwoods Lodge took first place for its Space Shuttle float, dedicated "to the brave men and women in our space program." Smoke billowed from the back.

Oak Mountain Ski Center took second place for its float saluting "everyday heroes: firemen, EMS, teachers ... any other person you may look up to..."

The Twigs took third place for its float saluting American Women Heros. A birthday blowout

The weather was perfect, the main drag was packed with over 10,000 spectators, the parade theme was American Heroes and the fireworks were fabulous for the Village of Speculator's Fourth of July celebration Saturday, July 5.
