OLD FORGE - The Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks inducted two new members during a recent meeting.

Kiwanis Penny Stuart introduced her sister and brother-in-law Carol and Gary Van Riper of Inlet and Camden. She briefed members on their background and indicated her pleasure in recommending them for membership.

The Van Ripers own The Adirondack Kids Press. Gary Riper and son Justin have authored many children's books. They have donated books for the annual Central Adirondack Christmas for Kids Project.

Gary is currently the full-time senior pastor of Camden Wesleyan Church in Camden and television host for Adirondack Journal, a regular feature on the weekly regional television show, Mohawk Valley Living.

The Ripers are also organizers of Adirondack Kids Day in Inlet, co-sponsored by the Kiwanis. The Second Annual Adirondack Kids Day is scheduled for Oct. 5.

Stuart presented Kiwanis lapel pins to the Ripers.
