NORTH CREEK -- The 11th Annual Upper Hudson Bluegrass Festival will open the gate to Ski Bowl Park for camper parking Thursday, Aug. 14, at noon.

The Town of Johnsburg will sponsor a "free" concert on the stage Thursday evening from 7-10 p.m., featuring two local bands.

Also available Thursday is a farmers market just down the road from 3-6 p.m. and a car show with live entertainment on Main Street in North Creek in early evening.

Food and craft venders will be at the festival. Bring chairs to enjoy the music from under the town pavilion or the tents. The festival is completely handicapped accessible.

Music for the bluegrass festival begins Friday, Aug. 15, at 11:30 a.m. and continues non-stop, in 45-minute sets, to 10:15 p.m. Seven bands will perform.

Saturday the music will start at 9 a.m. and continue to 10:45 p.m. with nine bands. An "open mike" set is planned for 5:15-6 p.m. and raffle drawings, including a guitar donated by Dave Nichols of Custom Pearl Inlay, will take place from 6:45-7 p.m.

Sunday kicks off with a gospel service and sing, led by Mike and Mary Robinson; from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each of the day's six entertainers will perform a half-hour gospel set. Starting at 1 p.m. the music will continue to 5:30 p.m. in regular 45-minute bluegrass sets.

This year's line-up features 11 bands: Remington Ryde, Beartracks, Zink & Company, Amy Gallatin & Stillwaters, The Katahdin Valley Boys, Smokey Greene, the Seth Sawyer Band, Higher Mountain, Dave Nichols & Spare Change, the Atkinson Family, and Washington County Line.

Ticket prices remain the same as last year: a three-day ticket with camping is $60 each, Friday only $25 / $15 after 5 p.m., Saturday only $30 / $15 after 5 p.m., and Sunday $15. Sunday is a great day of music at a great price. Children 15 and under are free with a parent / supervising adult.
