INDIAN LAKE -- A large crowd gathered in the parking lots of Indian Lake Restaurant and Tavern and the former Indian Lake Market for a party to benefit Mitch Frasier Saturday, July 19, from 6-10 p.m.

It did the trick, raising $4,500 to help Frasier through health problems.

Singer, songwriter and recording artist Kerry Cannan and Mark Arsenault provided the musical entertainment, sometimes separately and sometimes performing together.

Frasier has been a popular North Country musician since the early 1970s, growing up in Indian Lake. He was recently diagnosed with renal cancer and had surgery to remove a kidney July 10.

After the concert, Cannan gave a big thank-you to the Town of Indian Lake for asking her to play acoustic for the block party running simultaneously with the fund-raiser for fellow musician Mitch Frasier.

Cannan said, "I had a ball and the people there were absolutely amazing! You won't find a town full of nicer people anywhere! Mitch, your phone call played over the mic was the highlight of the evening! Heal quickly buddy! Your fans want to see you back on that stage soon!"
