Summer Reading Programs at the Indian Lake Library are held Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and Wednesdays at 7 p.m.

Children can read a book and get a gift book to keep. Sign up at the library.

Wednesday, Aug. 6, come for Fizz! Boom! Read! New York State Summer Reading Adirondack Grossology at 7 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 12, see the Disney movie "Mulan" at the Indian Lake Theater. "Mulan" is a 1998 animated musical action-comedy-drama film based on the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan. To save her father from death in the army, a young maiden secretly goes in his place and becomes one of China's greatest heroines.

The above events are open to the public without charge thanks to support in part from the New York State Library's Family Literacy Library Services grant program and Stewart's Shops.

There is a bonus program this month too, live theater by Adirondack Shakespeare Company. The troupe will perform "David and Goliath" Thursday, Aug. 21, starting at 11:30 a.m. at Indian Lake Theater.
