Mountain Valley Hospice awarded honors

Tuesday, August 19, 2014 - Updated: 8:53 AM

GLOVERSVILLE -- Mountain Valley Hospice here has been named a 2014 Hospice Honors recipient, a prestigious award recognizing hospices providing the best patient care as rated by patients' caregivers.

Established by Deyta, this annual honor recognizes hospices that continuously provide the highest level of satisfaction through their care as measured from the caregiver's point of view.

Deyta used the Family Evaluation of Hospice Care survey results from more than 1,700 partnering hospice agencies contained in its database to identify Hospice Honors recipients.

"We are thrilled to present Hospice Honors for the second year in a row. We are honored to serve such a dedicated industry, and we look forward to recognizing top performers each year for their hard work and dedication," said Deyta President and CEO Kevin Porter.

Mountain Valley Hospice President and CEO Donn Diefenbacher credits Director of Nursing Susan Frasier for her leadership and oversight of its Quality Assurance Process Improvement Program.

"Sue could not have done this without the effort of our whole team," he added. "Everyone's efforts to get it right on behalf of our patients and families have been nothing short of spectacular."

Mountain Valley Hospice is a community-based, not-for-profit agency founded in 1988. It seeks to make needed hospice care available to patients and families in Fulton, Hamilton, Montgomery and Saratoga counties regardless of race, creed, gender, sexual orientation or ability to pay.

The goal of hospice is to alleviate symptoms -- physical, emotional, spiritual, financial, and social -- enabling patients and families to concentrate on living as comfortably and fully as possible. Patient-centered care allows control to remain with the patient and those supporting them.

About Deyta LLC partners with thousands of hospice, home health, and healthcare organizations. It simplifies data-driven management.
