Speculator Volunteer Fire Department's 1999 Freightliner FL80 pumper is back after being refurbished. Upgrades include full cab and chassis refurbishment with many safety improvements, a new National Fire Protection Association-approved custom aluminum rescue / engine fire body with a top-mount pump control and a new 1,000-gallon water tank. The project cost $193,000 and will save thousands in replacement cost.
