Margaret Marie Maliszewski

August 29, 2012

Margaret Marie Maliszewski of Glenville died August 29th, 2012 in the Tri County Nursing Home in North Creek, New York after a long bout with Alzheimer’s.

Formally a longtime resident of Glenville, NY and in later years Prestwick Chase in Saratoga.

Margaret was the sole survivor of her childhood family and was predeceased by her parents, George and Mildred Bennett of Indian Lake as well as her three brothers Harold, Robert and Kenneth Bennett. Marge was married to Arnold Maliszewski who passed away in 1976, and is survived by her daughter Ardythe Maliszewski Potochney of Malta, NY, her son Geoffrey Maliszewski of Saratoga Springs, NY, his wife Julie and two grandchildren Brook and Ethan. Her extended family also included the Maliszewskis of Burnt Hills, NY and Massachusetts as well the Malisons of Rotterdam, NY, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Margaret was born on May 8th, 1928 in her home on Adirondack Lake in the Town of Indian Lake, NY.

She was proud graduate of Indian Lake High School where she participated in athletics and music. Upon graduation she worked for Continental Insurance Company in Albany, Carl Co. in Glenville and retired from the State of New York Tax Dept.

After her husband died in 1976, Marge was the sole provider of her  immediate family and a frequent care giver for her mother. Marge was known as a dedicated employee at the various positions she held. She was very supportive for her children to have educational opportunities not available for herself. Margaret was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church of Burnt Hills, loved to dance, and was an avid sports fan.

A funeral service will be held in the United Methodist Church, Burnt Hills, NY on Tuesday, September 4th at 10:00am followed by burial at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Charlton, NY. Arrangements are by Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home Ballston Lake, N.Y.
