Burglars accept plea bargains

INDIAN LAKE - A string of burglaries in central and northern New York state have been solved.

New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations in Ray Brook arrested Andrea L. Lynch, 31, Clayton, Oct. 15 in the Town of Indian Lake. She was charged with three counts of third-degree burglary, one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, one count of fourth-degree grand larceny and two counts of petit larceny.

Lynch was arraigned in Indian Lake Justice Court, where she was remanded into the custody of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond bail.

Lynch was then transported to Hamilton County Court in Lake Pleasant, where she waived grand jury indictment and pleaded guilty to one count of fourth-degree grand larceny and one count of third-degree burglary per a plea agreement with Hamilton County District Attorney Marsha K. Purdue.

Lynch is to be sentenced Nov. 20 at 1:30 p.m.

PARTNER IN CRIME

Hugh J. Broadbent, 28, Watertown, was indicted in June by a Hamilton County Grand Jury for third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, four counts of third-degree burglary, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, falsifying business records, fourth-degree grand larceny, four counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief, five counts of petit larceny, second-degree criminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing materials and second-degree criminal impersonation.

Broadbent has accepted a plea offer to serve five to 10 years in a state prison in satisfaction of all charges in Hamilton County. He is in the custody of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Broadbent's sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 31 in Hamilton County Court.

Lynch and Broadbent burglarized several homes and seasonal camps in Herkimer, Lewis and Hamilton counties in January and February 2012.
