The Blue Mountain Lake and Indian Lake volunteer fire departments gave a presentation at Indian Lake Central School for National Fire Prevention Week Oct. 6-12. Students reviewed what to do in the event of a fire at their house with instruction from firefighters Ben Strader, Jay Griffin and Billy Walters. Students were then provided a glimpse at the equipment on a fire truck, what a firefighter looks like with an air pack on and what sound it makes, and lastly all students were able to shoot water out a fire hose. The firefighters involved in this part of the presentation were Paul Strain Sr., Paul Strain Jr. and Shane Shortt.
