Feedback is welcome

Monday, November 25, 2013 - Updated: 6:28 PM

To the editor,

The United States Postal Service is proud to be an integral part of the Long Lake community, where records of postal operations date back to at least 1863.

As manager of postal operations across the High Peaks area of the Postal Service's Albany District, our commitment to you is professional, reliable and courteous service. Here in Upstate New York, we strive for top performance in terms of customer satisfaction and are among the tops in the nation in meeting that goal.

We take seriously any shortfalls that our customers share with us and welcome feedback that gives us an opportunity to improve.

We are always very concerned about true mail delays and encourage our customers to report repeated instances. Isolated instances of delay are ordinarily caused by human error and very difficult to fix, whereas patterns of such irregularities are usually systemic deficiencies that we can locate and correct.

In all cases, we encourage customers to give us feedback by calling 1-800-ASK USPS (1-800-275-8777) or visit the customer care options available on By recording concerns in this manner, we can see if there are issues unique to Long Lake or concerns that spread across Hamilton County and beyond.

Please accept my apologies if we have not met your expectations. Our best attention to your issue is assured.

Deb Jevitt, manager

Post Office Operations

USPS - Albany District
