Where is everyone going?

Dear Editor,

According to the 2009 “Adirondack Park Regional Assessment Project,” Hamilton County’s population was 5,379 residents in 2000. In 2006 Hamilton County’s population was 5,090 residents. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates that Hamilton County’s population was 4,793 residents in 2011.

Hamilton County is a beautiful area situated in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains.

With such beauty and free wilderness, why are more people not living here? Why is our population declining?
