OLD FORGE -- The Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks, in cooperation with Bob Card and Helen Zyma of the Strand Theater, will sponsor its annual free Bob Thayer Memorial Holiday Movie for Kids Saturday, Dec. 21, "Walking with Dinosaurs."

It tells a story set during the Late Cretaceous period 70 million years ago. The Alexornis bird Alex narrates about three Pachyrhinosaurus named Patchi, Scowler and Juniper who grow from infants into adulthood.

Alex has a symbiotic relationship with Pachyrhinosaurus. Patchi leads the herd in migrating, and they also encounter the predator Gorgon the Gorgosaurus. The film will be shown in 2D starting at 11 a.m. at The Strand Theatre here. The doors will open at 10:30 a.m.

The event is for children age 12 and under with adult supervision. The children will each receive a free beverage and popcorn. There is no admission charge for children or adults.

Santa and Mrs. Claus have promised a visit at 10:30 a.m.

The Kiwanis Club thanks the Thayer Family and all those in the community who have so generously contributed to the various fundraising events that make programs like this possible.
