You'll miss us if we're gone

Cris,

The Hamilton County Department of Motor Vehicle Office has seen many changes instituted by the state over the years. While I applaud their more recent transformation to new technology and making DMV available via the World Wide Web, it comes with a hefty price to the counties.

The state has consistently taken away mail transactions that were once directed to the county offices. If you look at the renewals you receive from DMV you will see the majority have a pre-printed return address to the Central Processing Unit in Utica.

Please mail them to us! For each transaction processed the county receives 12.7 percent of the gross proceeds. If you mail them to the state we get nothing.

Our office can do all types of motor vehicle transactions, help with paperwork and answer your questions. As we are the Motor Vehicle office, we cannot answer processing questions if you do your transactions on line -- we do not use it. We have always taken pride in helping our customers, in resolving difficult transactions and taking the time to talk to people with a pleasant and cheerful demeanor.

Help us help you! Re-address all your renewals to us at: Hamilton County DMV, POB 204, Lake Pleasant NY 12108.
